Things Like This Do Not Happen To Normal People

We will sometimes share some of these "Lucy Ricardo" moments I have so you can understand where we are coming from. The story I am about to share with you is probably my most "Lucyish" moment ever. We decided it is so epic it deserved an entire blog entry.

I am actually slightly embarrassed to share this with people so please don't judge me.

Well it all started about two months ago when I went to a friend's apartment to study for a math test. I had been to her apartment once before, and I was pretty sure I could remember where it was. However, just in case, I texted her and asked, "your apartment # 202 right?" I quickly got a response saying, "the door is unlocked."

I went to apartment 202, opened the unlocked door, and went inside. Once I was inside I could see two girls sitting on the couch with their backs facing me who were watching tv. I knew these two girls were not my friend's roommates, but I assumed they were some of their friends. I told them hi and they both responded hi back without turning around to look at me. I walked into the bedroom I knew was my friend's and I was instantly confused because it did not look like her room. It suddenly occurred to me that this was NOT my friend's apartment and I was in fact in a stranger's apartment. Needless to say I was absolutely horrified. I then looked down at my phone and saw she had actually responded to my text saying, "No I'm in the apartment above 202."

So there I was, standing in a stranger's bedroom and the girls who lived there still hadn't realized I was in fact a stranger and not their roommate. My mind was spinning with thoughts of what to do. Should I go out and tell the girls I was so sorry and that I had made a mistake? Should I quietly slip out?

I of course did what I believe Lucy Ricardo would do....

I ran out of that apartment as fast as I could without looking back.

I'm sure I left those girls confused and slightly scared as to who had been creeping around in their apartment while they were there!

When I came home and told Audrey (Ethel) what I had done, she took a few minutes to laugh hysterically at my cost before telling that things like this don't happen to normal people.

Well, maybe I'm not normal? However, I feel that living a silly life like that of Lucy Ricardo is far more exciting and worthwhile. So I'll leave it as it is for now :)

Sincerely,
Kelsi Cunningham
